Riegler & Kirstein is a company devoted to the
design of Langmuir troughs and layer-by-layer deposition
(self-assembly) devices for use in the scientific field of
monolayers and Langmuir-Blodgett research. It is run by Dr.
Hans Riegler and Dr. Stefan Kirstein. It was founded in 1993
as a spin-off from the experienced work of both of them in
the group of Prof. H. Moehwald.
The design of our instruments is the result of many
years of extensive lab-experience in the field of monolayers,
LB-research, and polyelectrolyte layer-by-layer deposition
('self-assembly'). In fact, we do use our own systems in our
daily research work. Accordingly, our instruments offer all
the technical features necessary for optimum and most
efficient laboratory use and handling.
Our instrument design is based on the following
principles:
- Simple and self-explaining instrument operation.
- Mechanical and electronic modularity, open
architecture.
- State-of-the-art mechanics and electronics.
- Customer-specific equipment design.
- Low prices.
